Blithe Bijou started as an idea for a creative, handmade business. I wanted a name that embodied something handmade and something that brought joy to those who came across my art. Blithe means happy and carefree and Bijou means trinket. I loved the way the words worked together and that's how this business was born! I love the idea of jewelry and art having a deeper meaning and am in a period of great growth and expansion. Feeling Mother Nature and the energy of the moon and universe working with me is a powerful thing and ultimately what inspired these earrings.
This pair of moons represent the waxing crescent and a waxing gibbous phases in the lunar cycle. The waxing crescent symbolizes rebuilding and the waxing gibbous symbolizes a time of preparation and final touches. Together, they represent growth and I wanted to embody that sentiment in something you can wear every day.
